This film, based on the Barnes Foundation's remarkable Renoir collection, uncovers the rarely told story of Renoir's artistic reinvention following his rejection of impressionism in the early 1890s and explores the life of monumental artist Pierre Auguste Renoir. Renoir's impressionist paintings of Paris are among the public's favorites. Eventually, however, Renior grew bored of this style and drastically changed his path. His later works are much more provocative and illicit extreme reactions from the public.
